Kathryn W. Becnel

Kathryn Weekley Becnel, a native of Louisiana, attended St. Martin’s Episcopal School and the University of Alabama. She received her Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law. Kathryn started her legal career as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana in New Orleans working in the Civil Division. During her ten years serving as an AUSA, her practice consisted of defending tort cases, social security matters, immigration litigation and the representation of the many federal agencies such as HUD, FBI and FEMA. While an AUSA, Kathryn’s practice was strictly limited to federal court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Kathryn is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state courts, the federal courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Association of Justice. She has been admitted to practice law in Colorado since 2008 and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Pitkin County Bar Association.

Since joining Becket in the law practice in 2006, her varied practice has included personal injury, worker’s compensation claims, social security claims and DWI.

Kathryn and Becket have two teenage children, and she is very involved in every aspect of their busy lives.
